SINCE 1938

WHAT STARTED AS A FARRIER...

What started in 1938 as a farrier, has grown over the years into a leading manufacturer of machines for the storage, grading and bagging of potatoes, onions, carrots and other agricultural crops. The step from farrier to manufacturer of agricultural machinery is smaller than it seems. Our location, Franeker, is located in an important potato growing area and in order to achieve more efficient business operations, the seed potato growers felt the need to mechanize.

AN EXTENSIVE DELIVERY PROGRAM

While our delivery program used to consist mainly of standard machines, today there is a clear trend towards customized machines and installations. This has resulted in us offering an extensive package of machines that has developed further over the years. The delivery program is divided into three groups: storage, grading and processing. Each group contains its own machines in various designs.

THE THIRD GENERATION

The third generation of Bijlsma is now in charge and you can find our red-yellow machines all over the world, because the quality and performance of a “Bijlsma Hercules” are recognized on every continent. Sales, engineering, production, assembly and service are all centrally controlled from the headquarter in Franeker. Thanks to more than 80 years of knowledge and experience, we can guarantee you the most optimal solution in every situation.
